This book is about John
Lewis and his life and all the behind the scenes work he and others put in
during this time. It was great to learn
about his early life and journey into being a civil rights leader, as it opened
up my eyes even more into the topic than what I already knew. Seeing how he and others were able to change
the country is remarkable. Especially
when seeing it all visually. The
brutality he went through for desegregation and the follow him all the way to
becoming a US congress member, who was awarded the presidential medal of
freedom by the first black president, is absolutely a beautiful journey in
itself. It truly shows how if you’re
willing to walk this long aspirational journey with the burden called trauma on your back without giving in,
it’ll take you farther than any other who knows no such pain.
