As
a motion designer, I have a lot of appreciation for stop motion and what Lotte
Reiniger has had to contribute to the community. Lotte Reiniger’s “Adventures
of Prince Achmed” specifically is an important work historically for animation.
The whole style of cutout silhouettes being animated to such motion filled
music, while also paving the way for the story to be so fluidly received along
with its characters is an art in itself, and really reflected that Arabian
Nights feel.
